weekend.

busy. busy. busy.

a lot of beach, a lot of sun (too much for scotty), and some DIY stuff around the house. we hung new shades in the bedroom... very very necessary. and planted some jasmine that will hopefully grow very quickly and cover our ugly little house with leaves and little white flowers. ill post pics later.

other than that...

1. huntley is one year old. wtf? how did that happen?

2. i am just over 12 weeks preggo and i am getting bigger. i'm embracing it (not it the baby, "it" the getting larger. we arent calling the baby it, we are calling the baby "baby" or he). and i am also embracing cheeseburgers and french fries and grape juice.

3. i was talking to my love grayson and was asking him about our baby and if we should have a boy or a girl, and if he would teach the baby how to swim and then i asked him what scotty and i should name the baby... he said "treasure hunt!!!!!". i said, ok we will take that into consideration, but what should the babies middle name be? and he replied, like i am a fool: "hunt". duh, of course he had covered both first and middle name. it was so funny (to us).

4. saw hall and oates at the hollywood bowl. amaze. they are in my top 3 now. for sure.

5. i think my hormones are "kind of" turning me in to a bitch. this girl who is dating one of scotts friends was talking to me at the beach the other day, and as if i had no control over my limbs as she was babbling to me about something i cant even remember i raised my hand and did the "gun to the head pull the trigger" gesture. i didnt even know i was doing it until it was over. not nice, elysia, not nice. and then in my head i have like a weird button that keeps going off that says "who gives a fuck" like all of the time. its terrible. i need to stop.

6. crazy wedding/party summer has officially kicked off.

little one will be joining our little family in january. i go back and forth between being so anxious for this little life to come meet us, and then being so so thankful that i still have six months to prepare for this little game changer.

life sure is sweet and mysterious!

lately.

had a lovely weekend in the desert. huntley didnt kill anything/one. but she definitely thought about it.

i woke up with a craving for chocolate, so i made a german chocolate cake from scratch. next time i will buy a candy bar.

look who has a green thumb all of a sudden? peppers. grown by me.

got this bogenvelia for the front. i am hoping it will take over the front of our ugly little house soon. and it reminds me of santorini. heaven.

spent the last weekend on hilton head island in south carolina. it was beautiful. i forgot how much i miss the south.

the view at dinner was worth the 55 big bites. i can say that now.
continental airlines is going down. it is my personal vendetta. not only did an employee "step to me " at 430 am, but they sent our bags on the wrong flight and we had to spend 2 hours at 11pm on sunday here: (yes, that is hell).

vegas

we went. i ate everything. i never touched the sidewalk. i conquered.

1. the encore is nice.
2. scotty ordered a cajun bloody (barf) that came with shrimp in it (barf).
3. we ordered and ate deep fried oreos and dipped them in malted milk shake. holy moly.
4. we lounged at the pool for too many hours. sunblock and crossword puzzles. we are some crazy kids!

by best friend had her baby. and oh em gee. maebel is the cutest little mini-annie i have ever seen. i have not met her yet (which led me to stomp through the house angrily this weekend and complain to my husband A LOT), but i love her already. welcome to this crazy world maebel!

we got a cabana at the shangri la hotel on sunday and swam and ate and it was a merry old time. this is the only picture i took:

at least you can see the super cool striped furniture... if only i took a picture of the pool and the bucket of fries i killed...

and then swam all day monday with my favorite little boy, husband, and sister and bro in law. we ate johns garden and made smores by the fire pit. sister got me some goggles so i could swim under water and grayson thought they were "so space". he is the greatest.

all in all, not TOO depressed that its tuesday and the start of another work week... on the agenda: benihanas tonight (i look forward to food a little too much), my works anniversary gala on thursday, and vegas with the in laws on saturday... life is good...

making my house a home.

i have been obsessed (for a while) with making our teeny little home more "homey". when i have free time at work... this is what i do...

this would be prefect to replace the chalkboard in the kitchen. for spare keys, chapstick, sunglasses, wads of $100 bills. whatever...

this would be just perfect as a little "bar" in our kitchen area. and it could double as an entree holder when we have people over for dinner. or a stand for outside if we dare to entertain in huntleys lair...

and then i happen to have two best friends who are currently with baby in belly. one, maebel will be here within the next 72 hours!! anywho, maybe i look at babies rooms, and toddlers rooms online sometimes and save them to my desk top... and maybe i dream of ways that i can one day incorporate this in to our one bedroom beach shack...

seriously...? love it.

this will be in my home on day... whether it is our bedroom... or not. amazing!

this room makes me think of grayson and that he needs a little brother PRONTO.

and this is going to be wha my life will probably be like. two kids and only a hallway for them to sleep. lol. this is a great example of hallway living...

i would have died for this when i was 12. this is exactly what i loved. i still love it. it might be a little too feminine for the hubby...

weekend.

being on south beach sure changes the weekends.

it is only 9am on sunday morning but so far this weekend has been perfection.

dinner and firepit with friends on friday night, in bed by 11. scotty got to surf, so he was a happy boy. lunch with the in laws and baby samara. lazy afternoon with the man. a not very yummy date night dinner, but still nice to have date nights... and now a day with my sister, momma, and my main man- grayson.

and this is funny- scotty went to a charity golf tournament this week and very thoughtfully brought me back some shoes. really, scotty, you SHOULDNT have. bahahahahahaha....

good news- the rapture didnt come. but huntley destroyed the pouf once again to make herself a heaven- like setting to fool the apocalypse. HOW DID SHE KNOW?
