DIY... suck it

So I just got back from dropping off the invitations... Thank god... It was a sweatshop up in here. I am pooped. But they look so pretty! YAY! I am not sure how many days we have to go but I know it aint many... WAHOOOOOOO!!!
I went through quite a tad bit of double sided tape. Yikes.
Pretty pretty pretty paper...
momma got crafty
Wahlah!
I took this so I can show my hubby all of the hard work I did. I don't like to brag, but then again I do.

phew

i tried on my PRETTY PRETTY dress yesterday and it was HUGE. thank goodness. now if i can just convince the seamstress that i DO NOT want chicken cutlets (aka size C cups) added to my dress, I will be fine.

My daughter will not be designing her own invitations.

That being said, I just approved the final of our invites at the hipster hangout, CopyLand, and I am super pleased. They are simple, they are a tad whimsical, they don't look totally DIY, and they were semi (not really) affordable. I am glad I did it this way, because I am nuts and need to have control over everything (which I swear was not a trait before this whole wedding planning thing happened to me), and they are 100% OURS.
I then spent the afternoon looking at liners. Yes, envelope liners. I am going to end up spending over $100 on the paper that goes inside of the envelopes that you throw away. Stupid. But I am still obsessed with finding the perfect pieces of paper for my invitees to throw away.... I am thinking....
image from paper-source.com (biggest waste but oh so cute and maybe 1 out of every 50 people will notice it. THATS A WHOLE FOUR PEOPLE! yeah.)

Anywho- we just got back from another amazing Big Sur weekend. We camped, we ate, we visited Point 16, we picked out our wedding cake, we tried out the breakfast for the "morning after" brunch, we drank lots of wine and talked for hours by the campfire, and we caught up on sleep. Basically, it was heaven. I kept driving along highway one and being amazed at the people who call Big Sur home. I realized it is just something you have to make a priority. Boyfriend and I said we would try to make things like this (not living in 10 million dollar homes), a priority. Surrounding ourselves with beauty, and inspiration, and love.

Other things I plan to make a priority: being happy, making my man happy, being a better daughter, sister, auntie, and friend, not complain so much (life is gooooood mahn), use my creativity more (the wedding has been an amazing and fun creative outlet, but I need to remember how good it feels once this shabang is over), being a better listener, and overall just being happy, because I am so spoiled and so blessed and such a bitch for having all that I have.

Anywho- here is a pic from another great weekend with my beloved, in my beloved, Big Sur.
61 days. yayayayayayay!

I saw my wedding dress on another blog the other day. One would think that would make a soon to be bride so so happy... but it freaked me out. I almost immediatly clicked off the page and dont want to go back and look at her. hmmmmm... what is wrong with me?

BUT i am going to think more about what to fill you with. i am kindof repeating myself but whatever, that is what i do outloud all day anyways.

1. barefoot contessa granola (flippin delicious AND it will be an ode to the fat burn i have on my arm, but hopefully will not have for the wedding)

2. shout wipes, alka seltzer, emergen-c, water, ibuprophen, map of big sur (below), food map, weekend itinerary

3. fruit, chocolate, candy??? popcorn?

4. thats enough. right? totes magotes. i am so clever. barf.

I am taking my David to Greece

SO because we are super cool and relaxed and don’t care about things like riots, and pillaging and financial collapse (all lies) we have decided to nix the Amalfi Coast as our honeymoon destination and instead will be traveling to GREECE (bitches). I am so happy. When we first got engaged and we discussed honeymoon (when we first got engaged, I swear, the only thing he wanted to discuss was honeymoon) I initially said one word: Greece. He said no… blah blah blah. He said Amalfi. I said fine. We planned on Amalfi and then he got this genius idea from out of nowhere that we should go to Greece because the dollar goes further. So anywho- now we are going to the place HE decided. Greece. And I could not be happier. Oh hello Mykinos...See you soon.

And dont worry, Santorini, we will see you next.

And my sexy soon-to-be looks "hella Greek" so it will be fun to see him relish in that. YAY!

Hair, or more specifically bangs.

I read some article in Vanity Fair or some mag like that last month about the ten things that have been making women ugly since invention. Or I guess the author said "not helping" women but regardless. One of the things listed was bangs. Eff that.

I love finding brides who rock the bangs. Thank you, previous brides for the inspiration. I hope I look half as cute as these ladies (duh).
